Find your footing.
Begin with three months of foundations in practice. Explore your strengths, investigate real questions and test small ideas while building research, collaboration and AI literacy.
SHARED FOUNDATIONA SCHOOL OF EXPERIMENTATION FOR LIFE AND WORK
Six- and twelve-month programmes for recent graduates to explore interests, build experience and shape their next step.
Guided projects, practical learning and a community to learn with. Start from your interests and build a pathway across disciplines.

01 / THE IDEA
You don’t need your whole life figured out to take a meaningful next step.
You’ve studied. You have interests. Maybe a few possible futures. Now you need the space, support and experience to discover what fits.
At Refuture School, you learn by investigating questions, making things and working with others. Build a practical foundation, then shape your journey through substantial project immersions. Develop your own idea, investigate a Refuture challenge or take on an available partner brief, with a guide to help you reflect and choose what follows.
Our approach: futures thinking to explore possibilities, systems thinking to understand connections, human-centred design to learn from people, and experiments to test ideas in practice.
Your path is individual. Your learning doesn’t have to be.
Work on your own, with peers and across disciplines.
02 / THE EXPERIENCES
Real questions. Real contexts. Room to discover an interest you didn’t know you had.
PERSONAL PROJECTThe business you keep thinking about. A creative practice. A research question. Agree a manageable scope with your guide, test it with real people and build something you can share.
Personal projects and Refuture-designed challenges form the starting catalogue. Community and company experiences depend on confirmed briefs and collaboration.
03 / A LITTLE STRUCTURE
The journey has a clear shape. What you build inside it becomes your own.
Begin with three months of foundations in practice. Explore your strengths, investigate real questions and test small ideas while building research, collaboration and AI literacy.
SHARED FOUNDATIONAgree each three-month immersion with your guide. Work to a clear scope and milestones, with practical learning, peer collaboration and feedback throughout.
ONE OR THREE IMMERSIONSReview your progress at each stage. Document your contribution, strengthen your portfolio and decide what to pursue, change or explore next.
REVIEW & NEXT STEPSRegular check-ins to shape your pathway, review progress and work through questions.
Practical clinics and practitioner feedback connected to the work you are doing.
Peer reviews, collaboration across disciplines and room to learn from one another.
Choose learning that stretches you: business, leadership, AI literacy, storytelling, research and collaboration. An engineering graduate might test a business idea; a nutrition graduate might explore communication.
04 / MAKE IT YOURS
Start with a curiosity. See one way your journey could take shape.
Choose from available experiences and agree an achievable plan with your guide. Review your direction between immersions.
Explore your interests through research and small experiments. Build practical skills with your learning community.
Develop a personal question into a substantial project. Test your interests through real work.
This is an example pathway. Your guide helps you agree each immersion around your interests, readiness and available experiences. Partner briefs require confirmed arrangements.
05 / SOMETHING TO SHOW
Your portfolio records the questions you investigated, the work you produced and your individual contribution. Each review helps you recognise strengths and decide what to develop next.
Paid internships may become a later step where a suitable employer opportunity and selection process are in place.

How could a local food project understand its customers and test a simple weekly offer?
A clear question. Your specific contribution. Evidence of what you tested. Feedback from the people involved. An honest reflection on what worked and what you would change.
06 / CHOOSE YOUR CHAPTER
Six or twelve months to discover possibilities and build the experience to pursue them. A named guide supports your journey.
Build a practical foundation, then develop one substantial project or immersion. Test a direction and build evidence of what you can do.
Confirmed before enrolment
Connect several experiences, work across different contexts and develop greater independence and responsibility.
Confirmed before enrolment
The first pilot is planned for Kenya. Dates, weekly commitment, delivery location, fees and what is included will be confirmed before enrolment. Any accommodation, travel or exchange costs will be stated separately. Registering interest requires no payment.
Institutions, businesses and community organisations can commission an experience, contribute a project brief or practitioner expertise, provide facilities, or fund participant places.
The first programmes are designed for adults who have recently graduated, across disciplines. You might want to explore different interests, test an idea or build practical experience beyond your qualification. You do not need a finished plan to register interest.
Both begin with three months of foundations in practice: research, small experiments and shared learning. The six-month pathway then includes one three-month immersion. The twelve-month pathway includes three, allowing you to explore different contexts or deepen a connected body of work. Guidance, practical learning and portfolio reviews continue throughout.
You begin with a shared foundation, then follow an individual plan with a guide. Entry dates will be confirmed for the pilot. Shared workshops, peer circles and reviews bring people together; immersions can involve independent work or collaboration across disciplines.
That is a useful starting point. The foundation helps you investigate your interests, try small experiments and choose a first substantial project. Your direction can change as you gather experience; each immersion has an agreed scope, milestones and work to show.
The starting catalogue combines personal projects and Refuture-designed challenges. Your guide helps you agree a suitable scope and a way to test your work with real people. Company and community projects are additional options where a suitable brief and collaboration have been confirmed.
Paid internships are a later possibility, once you have work and a portfolio to show. Any placement depends on a suitable employer opportunity, fit and a separate selection process. Enrolment does not guarantee an internship, a job or income.
The first pilot is planned for Kenya. It combines scheduled learning sessions, project work, check-ins and reviews. The weekly commitment, in-person requirements, delivery location and programme dates will be confirmed before enrolment. Accommodation is only included if explicitly stated in the final offer.
The design allows you to discuss an extension with your guide after your first immersion, subject to programme capacity, suitable experiences and the additional fee. Extension terms and payment arrangements will be confirmed before enrolment.
Refuture School is being designed as a practical experience programme. It is not an accredited degree or a replacement for a regulated professional qualification. The intended outputs are reviewed work, a portfolio, demonstrated capabilities and a considered next-step plan.
Institutions and funders can express interest in supporting participant places. Sponsored places, exchanges and programmes outside Kenya will be advertised only when arrangements and funding are confirmed. You can register interest from another country.
